Christmas Lights Up Alpine Village

Karen and Ann took a drive around Alpine Village to take in Christmas through our many neighbours' lovely lights displays.  We want to share with you what we saw.  Each street had beautiful displays with white, red, green and many other colours decorating their yards and homes.  You will find a beautifully decorated large evergreen tree at 23 Gracefield, a nicely decorated yard including a snow globe at 101 Roberts and a lovely lit home at 89 Roberts. Take in the beautiful display at 108 Lucerne.  So take your family for a ride or a walk around the streets of our Alpine neighbourhood and enjoy the beauty of the season.

Help Celebrate Your Neighbourhood

Laura McBride is a photographer and volunteer on Kitchener's Neighbourhood Strategy project team. She plans to visit 30 different neighbourhoods to take people’s pictures and ask what makes their neighbourhood unique. Pictures and short stories will be posted on the City of Kitchener facebook page.

Would you like to let people know about your neighbourhood?  Or would you like to suggest one or two people that would love to be featured in this way, or a place and time where many people will be gathered and impromptu interviews could be conducted.

Please contact Laura at or Darren Kropf at  if you have suggestions. Thanks for your assistance – and don’t forget to like and share the photos that get published!

Christmas Lights Contest

In the next few days, our volunteer judges will come around our neighborhood and decides where the nicest lights are. It may not be a single house, but a group of homes, or even a street. So light up your place each evening and we'll let you know whose lights and decorations reign supreme!
